houston national youth theater summer campsReturning to The Woodlands area twice this year, Houston National Youth Theater is offering Camp Aloha day camp, at WoodsEdge Church, and Wildwood United Methodist Church, as well as a teen overnight camp at Wildwood United Methodist Church details below). Houston National Youth Theater (NYT) is a non-profit, Christian ministry with the mission of engaging students in life-changing experiences through performing arts.

Campers ages 5-11 will rotate through Dance, Drama, Vocals, and Games, learning new moves, lines, and lyrics, which they will present at the Camp Aloha Showcase held at the end of the week. Campers also participate in daily inspirational worship and devotion time. It is truly amazing to see how much kids can accomplish, all while having a ton of tropical fun, in such a short time! The one-week camp is being held July 10 - 14 at WoodsEdge Church and July 17 - 21 at Wildwood United Methodist Church, Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. camp invention summer camps throughout the woodlandsCamp Invention is a week-long summer enrichment program for children entering kindergarten - grade six, and instills vital 21st century life skills such as problem-solving and teamwork through hands-on fun. Daily activities are widely diverse and vary based on the program being hosted, as well as the number of participants, but a day at the Camp Invention program is packed with hands-on activities, brainstorming, experimentation, and unbelievable action! Learning modules include Duct Tape Billionaire; Mission: Space Makers; Have A Blast; and Operation Keep Out. For more information about the curriculum check out the Camp Invention website. primrose schools summer campsFour Primrose School locations in the greater Woodlands area are offering Camp Primrose this summer. Children ages 5 - 12 years old can attend one, two or even all 12 weeks of different themed adventures. Weekly themes include: Scrapyard Crusades, Music Hall of Fame, X Marks the Spot, On Your Mark/Get Set/Go!, The Science of Cooking, Quiet On The Set, And The Year Is, Beyond The Back Yard, Inventions & Robotics, What Lies Beneath, Medieval Times, and Midnight at the Museum. Arts, crafts, games and exercises will fill their days with theme-oriented activities and adventures each day. Primrose Schools customize the adventures on a weekly basis. Field trips to local attractions or guest speakers are just a couple of the many options! From the great outdoors to the final frontier, campers take a fun and exciting trek through time.

cunae international school summer campsBeginning July 10, Cunae International School is offering a variety of summer camps for children ages 4 - 14. At Cunae's registered wildlife preserve campus, children will be immersed in nature, with exercises that will take them into the great outdoors, as well as hands-on activities in the classroom. These nature-centric camps are available for two sessions: Session 1: July 10 - July 14, and Session 2: July 17 - July 21.


  • Young Naturalists - This camp, held from 9:00 AM - noon for kids ages 4 - 5 will focus on getting to know insects, arachnids and reptiles, all part of summer life in The Woodlands. Activities will include hands-on, crafts, games, songs, stories, play and scientific observation. Fee: $160 per child, per session.
  • Young Nature Artists - At this camp, held from 12:00 - 3:00 PM for kids ages 4 - 5 children will be guided to create nature inspired art using a variety of natural materials such as leaves, mud and food coloring; and a variety of techniques such as collage, printing and modeling and a variety of tools such as twigs, feathers and ice. Camp experiences will include stories, music, drama, play, and of course, art. Fee: $160 per child, per session.
    Note: If enrolling in both camps (AM/PM) cost is $255 per child.
  • Eco Trakkers - Keep your child (age 6 - 9) engaged this summer, as they dive into the mysteries of our environment, the importance of recycling, participate in art projects, and take nature walks to see the environment at work first hand at this camp, held 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Your child will participate in activities involving bubbles, bugs, and books galore. Fee: $255 per child, per session.
  • Survivor Nature Camp - Campers ages 10 - 13 will learn how to determine great camping spots, how to pack for a hike, basic safety and first aid, and what to do when things don't go as planned at this camp, held from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. They will participate in team building challenges including building shelters, filtering water, building solar ovens, identifying plants, and setting up camp. Additionally, over the course of the week the students will learn the basics of field research. Fee: $255 per child, per session.
  • Beginning Dramatic Performance - This camp, held 9:00 AM - noon, will explore basic acting technique, presentational style, ensemble work and improv as students (ages 10 - 14) learn dramatic story telling. Activities will include preparatory warm-up exercises for the voice, mind, and body, group games, improv scenarios and stories. Fee: $160 per child, per session.
  • IdeaLab Camps - Cunae will also be offering a variety of camps in collaboration with IdeaLab, ranging from cooking, to Legos, to movie production, to chemistry with even more in between for kids ages 5 - 14, from July 10 - August 12. houston national youth theater summer campsHouston National Youth Theater is offering Hairspray, a teen overnight camp at Wildwood United Methodist Church. Houston National Youth Theater (NYT) is a non-profit, Christian ministry with the mission of engaging students in life-changing experiences through performing arts.

Campers ages 12 - 19 will join director Justin Ray and the rest of the team to learn the musical Hairspray; an inspirational message of equality, as characters dance their way onto a TV show inspiring a civil rights movement in 1960s Baltimore. But NYT Teen Camp is much more than putting on a fabulous show at the end of the week for family and friends - during camp kids will spend time in worship and devotion, as well as hearing moving testimonies. They will also have fun with friends, while making new ones. There will be indoor and outdoor games, as well as laid back activities and free time. There will be a traditional themed dance night, this year 60s style (be on the lookout for an inexpensive, fun outfit to wear). jabberwocky art summer campsAt Jabberwocky Art Camp of The Woodlands, campers ages 5 - 10 are divided by age into groups, which rotate through four imaginative, engaging classes each day. In the two daily art classes, projects will include painting with acrylics on canvas, painting with tempera and watercolors, printmaking, 3-D construction, artful collage, creative games, unusual craft projects, daily talent shows, weekly art exhibits, and more! Along with art classes exploring different mediums, there is also Gyre & Gimble, where kids will play imaginative, active games; and Bandersnatch is all about creative crafts and awesome activities designed to incite exploration and discovery. There will also be daily talent shows and an end-of-camp art show!

Jabberwocky Art Camp will be held at Alden Bridge Presbyterian, 7575 Alden Bridge Drive, The Woodlands 77382, Monday through Friday June 10 - 14, July 17 - 21, or July 24 - 28, from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Campers should bring bag lunches that do not require refrigeration, and wear comfortable clothes you won't mind getting stained. Cost is $300 per child per week, which includes cost of materials. jabberwocky art summer campsKaleyedoscoptics workshops are fun and productive. Each Workshop is designed to accelerate learning for ALL students (ages 5 and up). Their Workshops are great for children with Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, ADD or ADHD. Seating is limited (only 4 to 6 students). Fun, concentrated learning check out your options:

kids music lessons summer campsKidville is offering Camp Kidville, for kids ages 2 1/2 - 6 years old. Camp is all fun, all of the time with an amazing line up of exciting and structured Kidville activities and special themed weeks. This summer, sessions are structured by age group, from 9:30 AM -12:30 PM with three options for each session; Monday - Friday, M-W-F or T&TH, with 12 different themes among them! kids music lessons summer camps Kindermusik of The Woodlands, founded in 1988 and the largest Kindermusik program in the greater Houston area has among their many accolades having been awarded the prestigious Maestro Conductor Award, and are among the Top 1% of Kindermusik programs worldwide. Each summer Kindermusik offers a variety of summer camp programs for children as young as newborns up to seven years of age. This year's offerings include: Wiggle & Grow Family (newborn - 7 years), Sing & Play (6 - 18 Months), Wiggle & Grow (18 months - 3 years), Laugh & Learn (3 - 5 years), and Move & Groove (4 - 6 Years).

summer classes for kids at community collegeDiscover exciting and rewarding ways for your child to grow this summer, with programs at Discovery College Youth Camp, presented by Lone Star College - Montgomery, and Lone Star College - Creekside Center. There will be a variety of programs and activities for children ages 6 - 17, and some of the unique educational sessions include Clay and Sculpture, Real Math for Real Life, Junior Meteorologist, and LEGO Engineering, all of which use team-building exercises to let students develop situational awareness and learn practical life skills.

Discovery College begins June 12 and runs through July 13. Camp courses/sessions are offered Monday through Thursday in four-hour blocks, held in the afternoons from 1:00 - 5:00 PM at the College Park location, or in the morning or afternoon at the Creekside Park location. paddington british camp in the woodlandsThe Paddington British School is offering a full month of adventures to children ages 18 months - 7 years. Toddlers (ages 18 months - 2½ years) and Little People (ages 2½ - 3½ years) have two themed sessions to choose from: May 30 - June 16 or June 19 - 30; and Explorers (ages 3½ - 7 years) have five different weeks of themes, including: Viva Mexico! painting arts camp in the woodlandsPaint & Bubbles Studio will host eight weeks of different art-themed camps. Campers ages 6 - 12 will create many different art projects throughout the week and will be painting, drawing, and crafting! Campers should bring a sack lunch that does not need refrigeration and a water bottle; and should wear clothes that can get messy.

baking skills camp in the woodlandsReturning this year is another perfectly sweet summer camp option; Summer Bake Camp is being offered by Perfect Blend Bakery & Cafe in Old Town Spring. This fun and flavorful camp is for boys and girls, ages 6 & up. Each day will focus on a different baked good. Choose from: Pizza Pie Camp; Girls Day Out By The Pool; Princess Dress Up & Tea Party; Cookie Camp; Artistry Painting Camp; Party Cake Making & Decorating Camp; Snack-A-Doodle Camp; and Rollie Pollie Cake Ball Camp.
