real life real music summer camp for musicStudents ages 10 - 18 that are driven by the beat of a different drum can have the experience of a lifetime this summer by joining a select number of others at Real Life Real Music's Songwriters Experience Summer Day Camp. This five day summer camp allows participants to write, record, and perform under the direction of industry experts, including RLRM's own Kyle Hutton! The Experience blends classroom and hands-on education for singer/songwriters of any level or ability.

During the Experience, campers will write an original song under the guidance of accomplished songwriters, record an acoustic demo of the original song at renowned Red Tree Studios in Magnolia and perform the song during the Student Artist Showcase at premier acoustic venue Dosey Doe in The Woodlands!

Three, one-week sessions to choose from: June 12 - 16, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM daily with the Student Artist Showcase on June 18. July 10 - 14, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM daily with the Student Artist Showcase on July 16. And July 31 - August 4, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM daily with the Student Artist Showcase on August 6.

Register online as soon as possible, each session is limited to 15 students. Cost is $599 per student, with significant savings for registration completed before May 1 as well as returning campers. Camp is held at Dosey Doe (25911 I-45 S [Southbound]) on Monday, Tuesday and Friday of each week, as well as the Student Artist Showcase. Wednesday and Thursdays are at Rain Tree Studios (32618-B Tamina Road) in Magnolia 77354.

robot design and engineering camps in the woodlandsAt Robots-4-U, campers have a blast, while learning and playing in a dynamic environment! Budding engineers will enjoy learning about robotics and science in a independent and exciting way. At the end of the day, your camper meets new friend, and will want to talk about their creation right through supper time. Any day that a child learns through playing, and begs to come back not just the next day, but next week or year, you know you hit the jackpot for a camp! Robots-4-U offers several camps in the area; Robotics, Drones, and Kids Battle Robots! All camps are Monday - Friday, from 9:00 - 11:30 AM; or 12:30 - 3:00 PM. Combine both a morning and afternoon session for a full day of robotics fun! (note: campers need to provide their own lunch, drinks and snacks; supervision is provided over the lunch hour). Robotics - A fantastic opportunity for kids in grades 2 - 8 to expand their understanding of gears, circuitry and motors. Drones - Students in grades 1 - 8 will be introduced to the world of "flying robots." Your student will learn navigation and common aerodynamic concepts and technology. At Holiday Inn Express located at 24888 I-45 N (Northbound), Spring 77386, choose from morning or afternoon (or both!) the week of June 19 - 23.

Kids Battle Robots - This camp for kids in grades 1 - 8 covers the same basics of design, mechanics, and programming as the Robotics Program, but the focus is on building robots that are specifically designed to compete against those of other campers. At Holiday Inn Express located at 19333 David Memorial, Shenandoah 77385, choose from morning or afternoon (or both!) the week of June 26 - 30. The Rubicon Academy is committed to providing a challenging and enjoyable learning experience for those families who believe that character and academic accomplishments are vital to success. Rubicon is offering a variety of fun and educational summer camp programs at their campus in the far northeast border of The Woodlands, at FM 1488 and Kuykendahl Road (14211 Horseshoe Bend, Conroe 77384). Starting in June, campers ages 2 and up can enjoy a host of different camps.

Little Explorers - Hard time finding a camp for the youngest of your kids? Look no further. Little explorers (ages 2-9) have fun, learn something new and make new friends. There will be math, hands on science and arts and crafts. Offered Mon/Wed/Fri each week, June 5 - August 11 from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Cost $250 per week.

Scrabble Camp - This is a great opportunity for students ages 8 & up to learn basics of the Scrabble game as well as higher level critical thinking skills as students advance in strategic play. Students will play in a tournament on the last day of camp. Offered Mon-Fri, June 5 - 8, 9:00 AM - noon. Cost $150 per child.

Spanish Camp - Is your child (ages 5-8) excited about exploring another culture while learning a new language? Children will be able to learn or practice Spanish basic conversational skills and vocabulary in a fun and interactive way. Choose from Mon-Fri, June 5-9, 9:00 AM - noon or June 26-30 or August 7-11, 1:00 - 4:00 PM. Cost: 225 per child, per week.

Camp Einstein: Engineering & Science - These two camps are offered to students ages 5 - 12 the same week; the Engineering session is 9:00 AM - noon, then the Science session from 1:00 - 4:00 PM. Engineering will help your child transform into an engineer with hands-on projects in this exciting and challenging summer camp. And in Science, this fun hands-on summer camp, students will be transformed into a budding scientist and chemist. Camp Einstein will be offered Mon-Fri, June 12 - 16. Cost: $215 per session, per child.

chess camp and pc based video game creation campUSA Chess is offering Chess Camp; Gamebuilder Video Game Creation; Video Game Creation: Arcade Style; Video Game Creation: 3D Concepts; Modding, Networking, Hosting Minecraft; and Kodu Video Game Creation Go-Kart Style at the Rubicon Academy the week of July 17 - 21. Campers ages 5 - 16 experience chess instruction and play in a fun filled environment designed to improve their skills whether they are interested in casual or competitive chess at Chess Camp. Chess camp will have the option of attending in the morning (9:00 AM - Noon), afternoon (1:00 - 4:00 PM) or all day (9:00 - 4:00). At Gamebuilder Video Game Creation; Video Game Creation: Arcade Style; Video Game Creation: 3D Concepts; Modding, Networking, Hosting Minecraft; and Kodu Video Game Creation Go-Kart Style, Active Learning Services' video game creation camps offer programs that use custom designed curriculum that provide for campers to use their creativity as they learn to program a video game using step-by-step instructions while learning about the history of game design, design concepts, game styles and more! There are no prerequisites. All video creation programs are half-day programs that can be combined with an additional Active Learning Services offering to make a full day camp. Choose from attending in the morning (9:00 AM - Noon), afternoon (1:00 - 4:00 PM) or all day (9:00 - 4:00). Robotics Camps - The Robotics camps are specially developed by the Rubicon Academy's robotics teachers to immerse children with hands-on S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math). All classes are designed to be "small-in-size" to give a high quality experience for each child. Click here for class descriptions and more information about the robotics camps. Choose from five different sessions: June 26 - 30, July 10 - 14, July 24 - 28, July 29 - August 4, or August 7 - 11. Different classes for different age groups (from ages 6 - 14) are held at different times. Costs range from $220 - $265, per child, per session.

cooking baking chocolate camp in the woodlandsQuite possibly the tastiest summer camp option around, Chocolate Camp is sure to be the one day camp no one wants to miss! At Schakolad's Chocolate Camp, children ages 7 and up will make of a chocolate bar, from cacao bean to bar, make three-dimensional chocolate shapes, and make their own chocolate creations as they prepare to become mini-chocolatiers. Children will have the opportunity to use the skills they have learned, combined with their own personal creativity to make wonderful chocolate masterpieces that they can take home (if they make it that far)! And, just when you think the day is all cleaned up, they'll get a special dessert... chocolate face painting!


Chocolate Camp is held in three-day sessions, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, from 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM, or 2:00 - 4:30 PM, June 6 - 8, 13 - 15, 20 - 22, or 27 - 29; July 11 - 13, 20 - 22, or 27 - 29; or August 1 - 3, 8 - 10, or 15 - 17. Woodlands School of Rock summer camp programsRock your child's summer like a hurricane! This summer, your child (ages 7-17) will be a part of a real rock band! These performance based summer camps incorporate songs, performing, musical games/activities, and team building exercises as a way to teach music theory, and how to rock out as a real band! School of Rock will group students by age and skill set into a band of their own. With the guidance of instructors, they'll get the kids stage ready Monday-Thursday; then on Friday, do a performance for friends and family! Choose from ten different sessions; the week of June 5-9, June 12-16, June 26-30, July 10-14, July 17-21, July 24-28, July 31 - August 4, August 7 - 11, August 14-18, or August 21-25. Camp cost is $549 per child, per session; student must provide their own instrument.

Summer Science Safari Field Trip Summer Camp in The WoodlandsReturning to The Woodlands area for their second year, Summer Science Safari is offering area students in grades 5 - 8 a week PACKED with summer fun! For 2017, choose from three sessions: June 12 - 16, June 19 - 23, and July 17 - 21. Start the week off meeting at McCullough Junior High School, then it's off to the Sea Center in Lake Jackson, the Bayou Wildlife Zoo near Alvin, and finally an introduction to scuba diving in Humble. Tuesday includes a visit to A&M with several stops, plus TEEX Fire Fighting School. Wednesday has Schlitterbahn in San Antonio on the itenerary, and Thursday has Natural Bridge Caverns, the underwater meadow of San Marcus Springs, Glass Bottom Boats, and the Wimberley Zip-Line. The week closes out on a "high" note - a visit to iFly in Oak Ridge North!


All of this for only $599 per camper, which including all travels, tickets and entry fees. Register by May 15, and save $100! Lunches, snacks, gifts, and souvenirs are all the responsibility of the parents and students. There is a maximum of 13 participants to fill each session; additional applicants will be placed on a waiting list. Woodlands Children's Museum summer camp programsThe Woodlands Children's Museum offers various summer workshops where the curriculum is age-appropriate, developmentally sound, and fosters creative thinking. Workshops offered for the younger children include art, cultural discovery, Lego building and science concepts. Older children can select from pre-engineering concepts through Robotiks, building robots, and realistic motorized models from Lego within a team-building collaboration.


There are 10 weeks of summer programs beginning with the week of June 5, with your choice of morning or afternoon sessions. Programs are for children ages 4 - 10, and fees range between $56 - $139 per week, per child (slightly higher for non-members). Woodlands tree house summer camp programsThe Woodlands TreeHouse Preschool is offering four different summer camp programs this summer for preschoolers ages 3 - 6. First up is Start Your Engines between May 30 - June 9. Then between June 12 - 23, it's Young Picassos. Next is Little Chefs between June 26 - July 7 (no camp July 4). Finally, between July 10 - 21 is Animal Friends.


Each camp is held between 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM Monday - Friday. Cost is $450 per camper, per two-week session. Camp Praise is a Christian music day camp for students ages 12 to 19. At the camp, students can choose two of eight workshops: Song Writing, Audio Tech, Live Sound, Voice, Guitar, Keys, Drums, and Electric Tone. Camp will be held Monday - Friday, June 5 - 9, as an overnight camp on Galveston Beach. Enroll by April 30 for $575, or $650 through June 2! Woodlands children's learning adventure summer camp programsChildren's Learning Adventure of The Woodlands is offering all-inclusive summer camp options to children ages 5 - 13 this summer. Camps are open to all children, whether or not they are currently Children's Learning Adventure students. The Learning Adventure Passport™ themed summer camp will take your child on world-wide adventures as they explore across the globe. Travel fun is wrapped into the exploration and activities of the summer program. The travelers explore fascinating experiences in traditions, cultural games, and foods at each destination. In addition to the intriguing locations, the child is exposed to a variety of activities that present opportunities for personal development.

The Young Artists Art Studio will divide students into two age groups; ages 4 - 7 and ages 8 - 12, where each will have age-appropriate art projects. Half-day camps are available 9:00 AM - Noon, or 1:00-4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, each of the following weeks: June 5 - 9, Paint Like the Modern Masters; June 12 - 15, Desert and Urban Landscapes; June 19 - 22, Passport to World Cities; June 26 - 29, The Art of the Natural World; July 5 - 7, All American Art (afternoon session only); July 10 - 13, Monet’s Garden; July 17 - 20, Mixed Media Painting; July 24 - 27, Watercolor and Ink; July 31 - August 3, The World Of Pop Art; or August 7 - 11, Magical Quest. • First, partnering with Over The Top Cake Supplies, a "sweet" three-day camp for kids 8 - 12 years old, students will start the day with an engaging drawing lesson, then continue their adventure while creating confectionery masterpieces! • Next up, for the young children ages 5 - 7, three (four day) sessions, between 4:00 - 5:30 PM each day, to choose from being offered at The Learning Experience. Young Rembrandts teaches children the technical skills of drawing, the basis of all visual arts, in a fun and nurturing way. Session 1: June 12-15 is Jr. Under The Sea; Session 2: July 24 - 27 is Jr. Zoo; and Session 3: August 7-11 is Jr. Under The Sea. Each session costs $99 per child. • Does your child express an interest in music and art? Why not combine them at these camps for kids ages 7 - 12 being held at The School of Rock? Three sessions to choose from: June 12 - 15, July 10 - 13, or July 31 - August 3, all held from 3:00 - 5:00 PM. Cost is $159 per child, per session. • Finally, these camps with a wide variety of themes are geared toward students ages 8 - 12 years old, and will be utilizing pastels as the form of expression at these three, five-day sessions held at Congregation Beth Shalom in The Woodlands. Choose from Session 1: June 19 - 23, Favorite Apps & Video Games; Session 2: July 10 - 14, Horses, horses, and more horses; or Session 3: July 24 - 28, Monsters, Creatures, and Creeps!
