The Woodlands Recreation Center

Located on Research Forest Drive just west of Gosling Road, “The Gorilla Hole” Pre-Teen Night-time Activity program at The Woodlands Recreation Center offers younger residents a place to have fun and make friends. The Gorilla Hole Social Club provides Woodlands kids a chance to play games, listen to music and hang out in a safe and supervised environment.

 

This activity is only available to children entering 5th and 6th grade and all attendees must be checked in and out by a parent or guardian. Entry Fee is $7.00 per person, food and drink are available at additional cost. Activities vary; soccer balls, basketballs, etc. are available for use (weather permitting).

 

The Woodlands Township, Parks & Recreation department provides this safe and fun social program that offers indoor and outdoor games, music, snacks and competitions. Dress code and proper behavior enforced. There are two security guards on duty at each event and only paid attendees will be allowed into the facility during events. The Gorilla Hole is generally open the first and third Friday of each month (excepting holidays and certain weeks containing holidays).

Scheduled Events at the Gorilla Hole
Winter - Spring, 2018

For the winter and spring of 2018, the scheduled nights are many of the first and third Fridays of the month, with eight sessions: dates are: January 5, January 19; February 2, February 16; March 2; April 6; May 4 at the Recreation Center at Bear Branch, and May 18 at the Recreation Center at Bear Branch. Gorilla Hole is from 7:00 - 9:45 PM.

  • February 2 - Minute to Win It - The Recreation Center at Bear Branch
  • February 16 - Movie Night - The Recreation Center at Bear Branch
  • March 2 - Pajama Party - The Recreation Center at Bear Branch
  • April 6 - Emoji Bingo - The Recreation Center at Bear Branch
  • May 4 - Glow in the Dark - The Recreation Center at Bear Branch
  • May 18 - Pool Party - The Rob Fleming Aquatic Center

 

The Woodlands Recreation Centers offer recreational activities for the community, especially young people from the intermediate school level through high school - including sports and recreation, art, music and exercise classes. "The Gorilla Hole" is the name chosen by area pre-teens for the recreational media room - which offers programs and activities for all age groups in addition to these exclusive monthly gatherings.
