Houston Indoor Sports was Originally 3star Ice in ShenandoahWoodlands Events welcomed 3star Ice to the area in August, 2009. The business featured an acrylic hockey rink, and hockey leagues for adults and youths. Additionally, they were to have regular skate sessions including open and scheduled events sponsored by local organizations such as KSBJ radio. ![]() 3star Ice occupied what was formerly Mustang Sports, and held their Grand Opening in August, 2009. The inline skating and hockey rink was located at 17951 I-45 South, Shenandoah, Texas 77385 (between Chuy's and Sam Moon Center). (March 22, 2010) At the request and the actions of the City of Shenandoah Houston Indoor Sports has been temporarily closed by order of the 359th Judicial District Court of Montgomery County. Unlike the past experiences when fate has closed this building, The City of Shenandoah has made the decision that it does not want hockey within its city limits, and has achieved its goal through the Court system. It was a valiant effort by the hockey community to try and reemerge after repeated defeats, but as the old saying goes, you cannot fight city hall. For nearly two years, Tartaglia and Szabo worked diligently towards building a state-of-the-art, multi-purpose, year-round ice and inline skating facility. They've traveled across North America examining existing hockey facilities and talking to rink owners. They attended countless meetings with the city of Shenandoah developing a great relationship with the city leaders. The team even had "town hall" meetings with people in our community to discuss future plans for the current rink as well as the new facilities to come. "We could not have been able to do this without the tremendous support and back-breaking hard work of the hockey community moms, dads and players. Houston Indoor Sports is grateful of the help and support of the hockey community, thank you!" Scott Tartaglia and Steve Szabo, Managing Partners, Houston Indoor Sports. So much for their plans in Shenandoah, Texas. |
