In the Mid-lake section of East Shore, a new private garden park called The Ellipse has been completed in North Bay Park. North Bay Park is located on High Timbers Drive where North Bay Boulevard ends. About ½-acre in size, the park features an elliptical green bordered by seating and picnic areas around the perimeter. This garden edge is connected by decomposed granite walkways shaded by 39 oak trees and colorful perennial flower beds.

An ellipse (for you geometry fans) is the geometric shape that results from cutting a circular conical or cylindrical surface with an oblique plane. The most famous ellipse in the United States is the President's Park South in Washington, D.C.
