    The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is an outdoor amphitheater providing the Greater Houston region with an array of performing arts and contemporary entertainment events in a setting of unparalleled beauty for more than 20 years. The Pavilion opened with a star-studded gala weekend in April, 1990. Since then it has earned praise from both artists and audiences. According to the Jan. 18, 2010, edition of Pollstar magazine, the concert industry’s leading trade publication, The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion ranked sixth in its listing of the Top 100 amphitheaters in the world based on the number of tickets sold in 2009. The Pavilion’s ticket sales totaled 346,519 for shows between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2009. The Pavilion’s sixth-place ranking is despite opening a month later than normal due to reconstruction from damage sustained by Hurricane Ike in September, 2008. The Pavilion reopened May 1, 2009, after undergoing a $9.5 million renovation and expansion. Presenting approximately 75 events a year, the Pavilion typically operates March through November with events ranging in style from rock n' roll to modern opera.

    With accommodations for more than 16,000 guests, the soaring white fabric roof covered facility has presented a multitude of artists and musical organizations in over 20 years of operations. Performing Arts attractions include the world-class Houston Symphony, the Houston Ballet, and the Houston Grand Opera. Additionally, the well known music venue has presented popular touring artists such as Frank Sinatra, Bette Midler, Van Halen, Tina Turner, Rush, The Moody Blues, Elton John, Rod Stewart, Dave Matthews Band, Clint Black and Cher... just to name a few.

    The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion (CWMP) is a non-profit organization offering a wide variety of events both public and private in The Woodlands, Texas.

    The facility is an open-air amphitheater that has both covered seating as well as a grass hill (the lawn), providing seating for more than 16,000 people at any one event.

    The Woodlands Texas a thriving, master-planned community just north of Houston in South Montgomery County, Texas.
