Le Tour de Woodlands
Le Tour de Woodlands is not a race, but a leisurely, organized bike ride open to participants of all ages.
Since 1974, Interfaith of The Woodlands has served as a non-profit social service agency providing numerous programs and services to meet the needs of The Woodlands and the surrounding area. Beginning in 2012, Interfaith of The Woodlands will host the inaugural Le Tour de Woodlands. This first annual bicycling event took place on Saturday, October 20, 2012. This one-of-a-kind cycling event will offer both a Cyclist Ride and Family Cyclist Ride providing cycling opportunities for individuals and families.
This year, Le Tour de Woodlands will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015, beginning at 7:15 AM.
For more information, please contact Lisa Baeckel at [email protected] or 832 615-8225.
There are two courses available for the ride. The short course is approximately two and a half miles long, with an opportunity to repeat the course. The long course is slightly longer than 15 miles, with the opportunity to repeat the course if completed by set time. While the long course is for more experienced riders; the short course is designed for families with young children or cyclists who want a very short course. Families with small children are encouraged to participate, as there is no minimum age to register. Children's seats on bicycles and bicycle trailers are allowed, and all participants regardless of age must wear helmets. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult on the ride.
Online registration is available. Registration packets will be available at Interfaith after August 1, 2015. Cost to participate in Le Tour de Woodlands is $35 for individual cyclist, and $50 per family for family riders (up to four participants per family, additional family members are $10 each), and is limited to the first 800 registered riders. Registration costs increase after October 1.
Le Tour de Woodlands will begin and end at The Woodlands Township offices, located at 2801 Technology Forest Boulevard, The Woodlands 77381. After the ride, plan to stay and enjoy the post-ride festivities.
