This FREE lecture series features captivating speakers who reveal nature in our own backyard. Discover fascinating plants and wildlife - birds, pollinators, mammals, reptiles - that make our community unique. All lectures are held at locations stated below:

  • September 13 @ 6:00 PM: Birds of Prey - Demonstration by Wildlife Revealed (wildliferevealed.org) Held at Rob Fleming Recreation Center Amphitheater (6464 Creekside Forest Drive, The Woodlands 77389); Register here.
  • October 11 @ 6:00 PM: Working With Nature - Presented by Lisa Gonzalez, HARC President and CEO, held at HARC, 8801 Gosling Road, The Woodlands 77381; Register here.
  • Noveber 8 @ 6:00 PM: Snakes of The Woodlands - Presentation by Nathan Wells, Texas Herpetologist. Held at Rob Fleming Recreation Center Amphitheater (6464 Creekside Forest Drive, The Woodlands 77389); Register here.

Located on the edge of the Big Thicket National Preserve, Montgomery County is home to a diverse plant and wildlife population. The Walk in the Woods Nature Lecture Series provides an introduction to the unique species that inhabit our community. Guest speakers recognized for their expertise present topics ranging from bats and owls to hummingbirds and habitat gardening. Featuring exquisite photography and occasionally live specimens, Walk in the Woods appeals to nature enthusiasts of all ages and levels of interest, from students to retirees.
