casa 5k race at jones state forest

Child Advocates of Montgomery County (CASA) advocates for children who have suffered experienced abuse or neglect, believes all children deserve the chance to grow up happy and healthy, and become superhero adults themselves. The ninth annual 1K Fun Run, and 5K Trail Runs will be in the unique venue of an urban wilderness at Jones State Forest, behind The Woodlands Christian Academy; 5800 Academy Way, The Woodlands 77384.

Superman was adopted. Spiderman was raised by his aunt and uncle. Batman grew up with his butler, Alfred, and later took in Robin to raise as his ward. Thor was kicked out of Asgard by his dad, but eventually reunitied with his family. Few superheroes grew up in a typical family situation raised by their own parents, yet they all accomplished great things as adults.

New this year, in celebration of Veteran's Day, the event will salute our nation's ultimate heroes during a special opening ceremonies tribute. All participants are also invited to visit Hero Headquarters, which will host sponsor tents, food and beverages, engaging activities for children, and lots of Superhero-themed fun for a fantastic cause. The first 200 children (10 and under) to register will receive buy-one-get-one vouchers courtesy of The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion to The Woodlands Children's Festival.

The event offers complimentary food and drinks for all participants, awards for top runners in each event, finisher medals for all participants, and most importantly, lots of Superhero-themed fun for a fantastic cause. The day of the event, packet pickup and race day registration will be between 7:00 - 7:45 AM, with races beginning at 8:00 AM.
