The Alden Bridge Sports Park, located on Highway 242, west of Alden Woods Drive and just east of Green Bridge Drive, is home to many Woodlands area youth soccer, rugby and fast-pitch softball teams' practice fields. The Woodlands Township voted in April, 2010 to expand the sports fields by 2½ acres, enough acreage to add at least six new lighted fields, and additional land could be added later. The $387,000 allocated for the expansion includes $20,000 for a community garden, the second community garden in the Township. The first community garden is located at the Bear Branch Sportsfields. The Alden Bridge Sports Park, unlike the Bear Branch Sportsfields, is not located adjacent to the Alden Bridge Park. |
