The Woodlands Pathway System |
Connecting Residents with The Woodlands |
|
The Woodlands Pathways connect residents to individual neighborhoods, parks, schools and Shopping Centers. They are approximately 48" wide which is much wider than the average neighborhood sidewalk and they do not pass through anyone's front yard. The sidewalks, or pathways as they are commonly known, do run next to many streets yet they are typically seperated by 15 to 20 feet of grass and or trees. When extending through neighborhoods (villages) the pathways pass along the backside of some houses with various street crossings that are well marked. The pathways are all multi-use including roller bladers, bicyclist, hikers, wheelchairs, and of course, walkers, and joggers. In order to provide a safe environment for all pathway users, The Woodlands Parks and Recreation Department has the following recommendations: |
