Annual 10 For Texas Run

3.1 Armadillo Run, And One 4 Texas Kids' Fun Run

The first annual 10 FOR TEXAS 10-mile race through The Woodlands took place in October, 2006 at Central Park in Market Street. The event is produced by The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department and Luke's Locker. After the race, participants enjoy a Texas-sized party at Market Street with a live band and fun for the whole family.

The 2018 Memorial Hermann Ten for Texas 10-mile race will be held Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Northshore Park. The race begins at 7:30 AM, immediately following the One 4 Texas Kids Fun Run at 7:00 AM. Race entries are capped at 2,100 participants for the 10 for Texas, and 300 kids in the One for Texas Fun Run. Online registration for the 2017 10 For Texas can be completed here; January 1 - October 12, 2018 fees are $70 per person, and if, somehow, there is any space left October 13 - race-day entries are $75 per person. What we're saying here, is, be sure to register early, as the 10 For Texas will most surely be sold out!


Please be aware this is a venue change from previous years, due to planned construction at Market Street in Town Center.

The venue change will offer a new course for 10-mile and 5K participants, incorporating The Woodlands Waterway. The One 4 Texas Kids' Fun Run route is projected to utilize Lake Woodlands, pending county approval. Updated course maps will be posted online upon approval of the Traffic Control Plan.


The Memorial Hermann 10 for Texas race event offers participants a USATF sanctioned ten-mile course that winds through The Woodlands. All miles will be marked and all intersections staffed by contracted peace officers. Finish line clocks will display your unofficial time. If it is determined that a runner has left the prescribed race course, that runner shall be disqualified.


woodlands sporting eventsHydration stations supplied with water and sports drinks will be located at the start and finish lines as well as along the race course. A dedicated ambulance service will be staged midway on the course and bike medics along the course.


Prizes are awarded in the following categories: Top Male and Female Overall; Top Male and Female Masters (age 40 and over); Top three male and female participants in the following age groups: 14 years and younger, 15 - 19 years, 20 - 24 years, 25 - 29 years, 30 - 34 years, 35 - 39 years, 40 - 44 years, 45 - 49 years, 50 - 54 years, 55 - 59 years, 60 - 64 years, 65 -69 years, 70 years and up.

Race day street closures are announced prior to the Memorial Hermann 10 For Texas race. Roads along the race route will have the outside lane closed to automobile traffic from 6:00 to 10:30 AM to accommodate runners in the 10 For Texas race. These roadways typically include:

The Woodlands Annual 3.1 Armadillo Run

The Woodlands 3.1 Armadillo Run race event also offers participants a USATF sanctioned 3.1 kilometer course that winds through The Woodlands. All kilometers will be marked and all intersections staffed by contracted peace officers. Finish line clocks will display your unofficial time. If it is determined that a runner has left the prescribed race course, that runner shall be disqualified. The Armadillo Run is capped at 1,000 participants, and will start at 7:40 AM on October 13, 2018 - just after the 10 For Texas race begins.


Registration is $55 per person, January 1 - October 12, 2018, and $60 per person on race day. Registratation may be completed online.

The run will originate and end at Northshore Park. This area will be congested throughout the event. Please use extreme caution while traveling in this area. For more information please view the Race Map. You may also e-mail [email protected] for questions related to traffic during the race, or call 281 210-2099. From October 1 - 10, 2018, calls to this number will be responded to within one business day. Between October 11 through 13, this number will be answered 24 hours a day.

Market Street Fun Run

Annual ONE 4 TEXAS Kids' Fun Run

The ONE 4 TEXAS offers participants a fun run course within the confines of Market Street. One 4 Texas is a non-competitive event designed to promote fun and fitness for kid's ages 5 - 12 of all abilities. All participants receive a finisher's award upon crossing the finish line.


Register your child for the Annual One 4 Texas Kid's Fun Run here. Registration fees are $35 per child through October 12, 2018, and $40 per child on race day. Remember, the One 4 Texas Children's Fun Run is capped at 300 participants, so register early!

The Memorial Hermann 10 for Texas, One 4 Texas, and The Woodlands 3.1 Armadillo Run is open to runners of all abilities. Wheelchair athletes must wear helmets in accordance with USA Track & Field guidelines. Headphones are permitted, but discouraged. Please contact The Woodlands Township, Parks & Recreation Department at the number above if you have a question about what is or isn't allowed, or if you have any other questions regarding registration or fees. A partial list of things prohibited from the course includes: runners going backwards, runners not wearing a bib, animals, bicycles, baby joggers, strollers, roller skates, rollerblades, hand-crank chairs, and any wheeled vehicles other than wheelchairs. After three hours the finish line will close, and the course will be completely opened to traffic per the Approved Traffic Control Plan. All runners and walkers must maintain 16 minutes per mile to stay ahead of course closure.
