Annual CB&I Triathlon The Woodlands
The 13th annual Woodlands CB&I Tri will held May 6, 2017. As one of the premier multi-sport events in the region, the ever popular Woodlands Triathlon is produced by The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department, offering high-caliber competition, first-rate race management and a scenic course. As with years past, the race is a sanctioned USA Triathlon (USAT) event and features a field of 1,400+ participants (easily filled). Each year's participants range from beginners to nationally ranked triathletes, with several potential contenders on a waiting list. This event has reached capacity and sold out nearly every year in the past years, with the 2016 event selling out in just 11 days!
Registration for the 2017 event opened January 1, 2017; once registration for the CB&I Tri is full, persons wishing to participate may be added to the 2017 CB&I Tri waiting list.
A waiting list may be started for the 2017 triathlon at such time that the event sells out. If you would like to be placed on it, please send your request to email@example.com,and you will receive future e-mails with instructions on how to proceed.
The Woodlands CB & I Tri event has earned a Top 10 placement in the USAT South Midwest Region for Sprint Distance Triathlons in 2004 and was designated as the USAT South Midwest Region Sprint State Championships for 2007. The event culminates with a festive awards party featuring music, great food, beverages and door prizes.
The minimum age for participation in the CB&I Tri - The Woodlands is 13. Registration will be available online beginning January 1, 2017; In 2017, early registration cost for the 2017 race is ($110) for individuals, ($175) for relay teams and was available through January 3. Regular registration costs are ($120) for individuals, ($185) for relay teams and will be available January 4 - until sold out. Each year through efforts of coordinators, participants and volunteers, 80 percent or more of waste on race day was diverted to recycling and compostable businesses.
