Fun with the Easter Bunny

Ah, Spring. Soon the trees will sprout fresh greens and the crisp, brown lawns will start softening up and coming back to life. Flowers will bloom, birds will sing and insects of all types will be aflutter. And of course, it will be Spring Break. Looking for something fun to do with the family this Easter weekend? We here at Woodlands Events have compiled a list of activities going on around the community, offering something for everyone this holiday weekend. Think we might have missed something? Easter Events in The Woodlands - 2012

Kayak Easter Egg Hunt

On Friday, March 31 at 3:00 PM, each parent and child kayaking team will take a trip down the Waterway on a search for lots of eggs! Riva Row Boat House rules apply to this program. A fun event for all ages, however, each child must be accompanied by an adult to ride in the kayak. Cost is $45 per pair. Meet up at the Riva Row Boat House.

Brunch with the Bunny

Bring out the family to the Lodge at Rob Fleming Park on Sunday, April 1 at 1:00 PM for some Easter fun, including an egg hunt and Easter craft, plus an "egg"cellent brunch! Don't forget to bring your camera! Fun for all ages; cost is $30 per family of four, $5 for each additional family member.

Bunny Stops

No registration required! On Thursday, April 5 at 6:00 PM, bring your camera and the kids, even a pet, to snap photos with the Easter Bunny without all the lines and fuss at Waterway Square! The event will be canceled in the event of bad weather. Call the Rec Center at 281 210-3950 to confirm the event is still going forward. Cost is only $5 per family.

The Bunny Bash

Kids of all ages (and adults, too!) can have a blast at the Bunny Bash, featuring the Glow-in-the-Dark Hunt! The whole family is sure to have an "egg"citing time at the Bunny Bash with snacks, crafts, music and a glow-in-the-dark egg hunt, out at Terramont Park on Friday, April 6 at 7:00 PM! Cost is $20 per family of four, with $5 for each additional family member.

The Easter Bunny at The Woodlands Mall

Grab your baskets, the Easter Bunny is hitting the trail and he’s making his way to The Woodlands Mall to visit with boys and girls. The Easter Bunny arrives on Wednesday, March 14 and will be welcoming visitors daily in his springtime garden in Future Court across from JCPenney.

Hours to visit the bunny are Monday through Saturday from 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM and Sunday from Noon - 6:00 PM. He does take occasional breaks during the day. The Easter Bunny will be greeting visitors and posing for photos until Saturday, April 7. Photo packages start at $18.99.

Community Easter Egg Hunts

The Woodlands Church hosts multiple Easter egg hunts throughout Easter week at The Woodlands Campus; Drop in on one Friday, April 6 at 5:30 PM, Saturday, April 7 at 2:30 PM, Sunday, April 8 at 1:00 PM and at 5:30 PM, as well as one at 3:00 PM, following their Spanish-speaking service.

Be sure to check out The Woodlands United Methodist Church's Easter egg hunt out in their giant sports fields at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 7.

The weekend before Easter, on Saturday, March 31 there will be an Easter Egg Hunt at the South Regional Library (next to the Pavilion) for children ages birth - 6 years at Noon. Additionally, 7 Acre Wood, the Fun Park just up the road in Conroe, is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, from 10:00 - 2:00. And Scooter's Dog House is holding a Family Fun Day and Easter Egg Hunt from 10:00 - 4:00.

Also on Saturday, don't miss the Easter Egg Hunts at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church beginning at 10:00 AM. There are also a whole host of Easter Egg Hunts right up until Easter Sunday, so be sure to look through the Event Calendar and make plans to attend at least one!

Easter Church Celebrations

In addition to all the festivities above, many area churches will hold special services for the holiday. Along with Easter services, churches also offer a variety of events and activities for kids and all family members. The following is just a sampling of area churches that usually have Easter Sunday plans - check back for updates as the holiday nears for more listings;

Easter at the Pavilion

The First Baptist Church of The Woodlands will be hosting the annual Community Easter service at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavillion at 10:00 am. This is a free event that is open to the public.
The Woodlands Church (Fellowship of The Woodlands) hosts several Easter Services; Thursday, April 5 at 7:00 PM, Friday, April 6 at 6:00 and 8:00 PM, Saturday, April 7 at 3:00, 5:00, and 7:00 PM, and Sunday, April 8 at 8:00, 9:30, and 11:30 AM, 6:00 PM, as well as a Sunrise Service, April 8 at 6:30 AM and Traditional Services, April 8 at 9:00 and 11:00 AM. Finally, there is a service available in Spanish at 1:45 PM Easter Sunday. The Woodlands Church is located at One Fellowship Drive, 77384.
The St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church will hold a 7:00 AM Sunrise Service as well as additional services at 9:00 and 11:00 AM and a Spanish Service at 1:00 PM. They are located at 7801 Bay Branch Drive, 77382.
Traditional masses will be held at 7:30, 9:00, 10:30 and 12:00 Noon at Saints Simon and Jude Catholic Parish, located at 26777 Glen Loch Drive, 77381.
