Spring Break in The Woodlands

The Woodlands Township has created these day camps, which are designed to give students something to do during their Spring Break from school! All camps will be held at the Recreation Center, Monday - Friday, March 13 - 17, 2017. Spaces will fill up fast, be sure to sign up soon!

               Day Camps for Kids

kids programs for spring break in the woodlandsJunior Engineering - Wings, Wheels & Sails - Everyone has to travel, and engineers are involved in all the steps of designing different modes of transportation as well as inventing and designing tools that aid in travel. Everyone's travel needs are different, whether they need to walk around their local community to do errands, or they need to be halfway across the world by evening! Students ages 5 - 8 will get their passports and travel to a new community every day by a different means! They will engineer their mode of transportation or tool to aid in transportation daily to get to their destination country. Held at the Recreation Center, from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM, March 13 - 17. FEE: $250 per child for residents, $260 per child for non-residents.

 

Apprentice Engineers - Engineering Your Own City - Do you have what it takes to engineer a magnifcent city from an inhabitable environment? Students ages 8 - 11 form their very own construction crew and work together as a team to build a city from the ground up. Crews design essential urban structures, develop processes to purify water and generate their own power. Join up with a crew to complete in challenges designed to test the strength of your designs in building cities. Held at the Recreation Center, from 1:00 AM - 4:00 PM, March 13 - 17. FEE: $250 per child for residents, $260 per child for non-residents.

 

Cook, Learn, Grow - Spring Break Cooking Camp - Cook, Learn, Grow returns with a new, all-day Spring Break camp of professional and fun Food Literacy education for students ages 7 - 10. This new, Monday - Friday camp, led by Founder and Director, Lori Hinze, Wal-Mart teacher of the year and graduate of The International Culinary Center, NYC, provides limited enrollment to enable individualized attention for age-appropriate techniques, overall holistic food literacy education and a unique feld trip day. Welcome packet with camp details will be emailed after registration. This camp can accommodate nut allergies. Cook, Learn, Grow will be held Monday - Friday, March 13 - 17, from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. FEE: $575 per child for residents, $585 for non-residents.

Sunny Dayz Camp - Each day of Sunny Dayz Day Camp has a new and different theme! Sunny Dayz Camp is for ages 5 to 12, is held from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, March 13 - 17 at the Recreation Center. The FEE for Sunny Dayz is $50 per day, per child, with a $15 sibling discount. Register for all five days and receive a $50 discount!

 

Please note: Drop-In Camps follow Conroe Independent School District holiday calendar. Determinations are made five days prior to each date whether enough participants are enrolled to hold the camps. All campers must pre-register and complete a Camper Information Form before camp starts. Campers should wear lightweight, comfortable clothes and tennis shoes (clogs, flip-flops, and sandal-type shoes are not recommended).

Campers must be escorted into the facility, signed in at arrival, and signed out at departure each day. All parents and guardians picking up campers must show a valid ID and be listed on the "Approved Pick Up List" for their camper. Please provide any medical information beneficial to a camper's experience at camp. Information may include behavioral information, such as diffiulty taking directions or working in a group. Campers will be asked to wear Allergy Bracelets indicating their food and/or outdoor allergies.

 

Young Rembrandts Workshops - Ahoy mates! Kids ages 6 - 12 will explore the world of pirates with new drawing adventures! Pirates, treasure maps, sunken treasures, parrots, a grand pirate ship and more will inspire them as they draw, using cartoon and realistic drawing techniques. Kids complete several drawings each day using the unique Young Rembrandts drawing method. Young Rembrandts will be held Monday - Friday, March 13 - 17, from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM. FEE: $189 per child for residents, $199 for non-residents. All materials provided.

Spring Into The Woodlands Children's Museum: Spring BreaK-ation offers affordable enrichment activities for children ages 4 through 11, with a variety of programs, including Science Madness Palooza all during the Spring Break week. Kids can get hands on with these short science activities, which are suitable for all ages. Even the youngest scientists will enjoy exploring their world through these interactive explorations.

 

Included with your child's paid admission, Science Madness Palooza offers learning fun with a different theme each day - and is going on March 11 - 18 from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

  • March 12 - Science Madness – Marshmallow Sink or Float
  • March 13 - Science Madness – Water Microscopes and Bending Light
  • March 14 - Science Madness – Hydrophobic Sand
  • March 15 - Science Madness – Invisible Ink
  • March 16 - Science Madness – Vision Tricks
  • March 17 - Science Madness – Green Oobleck
  • March 18 - Science Madness – Solid Water

For Spring BreaKation for 4 year-olds; Discovery Workshops will be held Monday - Thursday March 13 - 16 from 9:00 AM - Noon; Fees are $97 for members,$117 for non-members $117. At Spring BreaKation for 5 - 8 year olds - choose from three different programs, offered from either 9:00 AM - Noon, or 1:00 - 4:00 PM. Fees vary by program.
