2010 Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival |

The 2010 Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival in Town Center will take place Saturday and Sunday, April 10 and 11. The featured artist for the festival has been announced, Bulgarian-born Tanya Doskova. Her work can be found all over the world, and her most recent work is on display at The Venitian Hotel & Casino in Macao.
The art booths will once again start at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center, and be stationed along the waterway to a point that ends in Town Green Park. Student Art will be available for viewing near the entrance to Town Green Park.
Approximately 200 fine artists are expected to shocase their works from many mediums including clay pottery, digital art, drawings, fiber and glassworks, jewelry, leather tooling and metalworks as well as painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture and wood carvings and constructions.
As part of the fun, The Woodlands Art League and The Woodlands Children Museum will plan a range of children’s events hosted in the "Artopoly" tent in Town Green Park. They come up with some pretty interactive and entertaining activities for the kids.
The festival hours are from 10am - 6pm Saturday and 10am - 6pm Sunday. It is daylight throughout festival hours. Admission for adults is $10.00 per person, and admission for children under twelve is free. Ample parking will be available, therefore those attending the Festival are prohibited from parking in the Market Street (HEB) parking lot. The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival |
An annual two-day outdoor celebration of the visual and performing arts with an average attendance of 15,000. Recognized among the best outdoor juried visual arts events in Texas, the Arts Festival also offers a variety of art activities for children and adults, live cultural performances, and tantilizing culinary offerings.
More than 200 fine artists from across the nation and other countries are showcased in this juried fine art event. Their works of art are available for purchase throughout the Festival area.
The 2009 Waterway Arts Festival included a Floating Art Parade with the theme "Outer Space." Participants were asked to design and create a float reflecting this theme. The best entry received The Waterway Cup, a unique piece of art designed by one of the festival artists. Festival jurors voted for the best entry. |
