There is something for everyone to do this week in The Woodlands! You can literally Live, Work, and Play in The Woodlands. Every day is an event, and here at Woodlands Events, we've brought together all you need to plan your week, weekend, or even just today or tomorrow with the most popular places to go and things to do in The Woodlands. When looking for things to do with your children, the outdoors is often the kids' choice and there is a lot to do if the weather permits. In the summer months, parks, playgrounds, and pools are a great free way to spend an afternoon. The kids can have a lot of fun while getting exercise playing on the equipment and burn up some of that youthful energy (you know - the kind we wish we could bottle) while playing with other children. Parks are also great for outdoor family activities. Bring along a football or a frisbee to toss around, a soccer ball to kick back and forth or even a basketball. These items are fun in a small group, but even better if you can get together with others and make a game out of it. Bring along something as simple as a kite on a windy day, hop on a bike, or jog along the more than 200 miles of concrete pathways. Wheel Friendly Parks are available for trick bikes, skateboards and roller skates which are located in several different villages.
When it comes to indoor activities, The Woodlands Downtown area has a wide variety of things to do. During the school year and after, tweens can attend events at The Gorilla Hole and assorted spring break events. And during the summer months, there are a number of summer camps across the area. Family friendly activities could include bowling at either Main Event or the Woodlands Bowling Center, or even take a kayak out on Lake Woodlands from the Riva Row Boat House. If the village park splash pads and or the Rob Fleming Aquatic Center isn't enough water fun, try Splash Town in Spring for beating the summer heat.
The Woodlands Pavilion isn't the only place to see, hear, and feel live music and get in some good people-watching. There are several venues for live music in the area including free events at Northshore Park, Waterway Square, and some local hot spots along Waterway Avenue and in other parts of The Woodlands. Dosey Doe offers live musical acts (most with cover charges, but some free). And of course, there is the ever popular 'dinner and a movie' plan with some 400+ dining options and 22 screens between two Cinemark locations in Town Center.
Certainly one of the most popular, the Red, Hot & Blue Festival features a large celebration at Town Green Park, Waterway Square, and Northshore Park for Independence Day. This extravagent event offers face painting, strolling performers, assorted summer time eating contests, moonwalks and of course, fireworks!
When it comes to cooler months, you can find winter holiday fun in Town Center at the ice rink, stroll through the Winter Wonderland Christmas lighting display, enjoy iWoW, and assorted opportunities to see Santa Claus among the available winter season events.
Add it all up and there are a lot of Things To Do This Week in The Woodlands; and many of them are FREE! The Woodlands is constantly expanding so come back and visit The Woodlands Events to keep up-to-date on the happenings, events and attractions in The Woodlands!
