Woodlands Waterway

The Woodlands Waterway Square officially opened on April 12, 2008, and was celebrated with a festival of lights and music. Waterway Square features a unique, 120 foot water-wall adorned with dancing columns of water, next to a cascading waterfall enhanced by "boomer" jets of water capable of rising more than 60 feet into the air.

The Waterway continues to expand including the recently opened Viking Cooking School , as well as Crush Wine Bar, Grimaldis Pizza baked in a 'Coal Fired' Oven, a new hotel and a luxury condo all in the works.

Located just east of The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center, The Woodlands Waterway Square is an initiative of The Woodlands Development Company, The Woodlands Township and The Woodlands Town Center Owners Association. The colored light fountains at the square are adjacent to Waterway Avenue which runs between The Woodlands Parkway and Lake Robbins Drive. Waterway Avenue ends directly in front of Tinseltown 17 and affords a scenic view of Waterway Square as it crosses the The Waterway. The Woodlands Waterway Cruisers and the Woodlands Trolley provide excellent transportation in and around the Downtown Woodlands area.

The Woodlands Waterway Attractions

Located just east of The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center, The Woodlands' Waterway Square is an initiative of The Woodlands Development Company, The Woodlands Township and The Woodlands Town Center Owners Association. The colored fountains at the square are adjacent to Waterway Avenue which runs between The Woodlands Parkway and Lake Robbins Drive.
Begining directly in front of Tinseltown 17, Waterway Avenue affords a scenic view of Waterway Square as it crosses the The Waterway. The Woodlands Waterway is an impressive attraction featuring lighted walkways for night-time strolls, as well as the water taxi service.  A favorite attraction is The Waterway Square Fountain light show, a choreographed water attraction with sound and colorful lights that plays nightly on a 15 minute rotation.

The Park at Market Street also features a colored light fountain available for the kids to splash and frolic in the water as it shoots up from the ground.

The one acre facility at Waterway Avenue is The Woodlands' newest and most unique park and serves as the "centerpiece" of The Woodlands Waterway District. Featuring various restaurants, entertainment venues and retail outlets, the Fountains at Waterway Square create an active setting throughout the day and into the night.  The Gooses Acre, Americas, and Baker Street Pub are open and other buildings are under construction and will offer additional restaurants and entertainment choices.

The Waterway Square Fountains are sure to become a favorite evening destination for residents of Houston, Spring, Conroe, and The Woodlands. The Woodlands Waterway is unique to the Greater Houston / Spring / Conroe area and is expected to bring excitement to the community as it will enhance community appeal and creates a place to meet friends, relax, and create happy memories.

The Fountain at Waterway Square is an outstanding addition to The Woodlands and enhances the destination appeal for residents, visitors and companies who may choose to locate offices in the area. The Fountains at Waterway Square will enhance the destination appeal of The Woodlands as another 'signature' gathering spot in the downtown area.

The newest and most exciting public space along The Woodlands Waterway is attracting businesses, shops and restaurants to the recently opened office buildings in The Waterway Square District. With the opening of Waterway Square, we will begin to see the fulfillment of our vision for a vibrant 24/7 environment in the heart of The Woodlands Town Center.

The water feature was designed by Aquatic Design and Engineering of Orlando, Florida, creators of several major water features for Disney Resorts in Orlando and Orlando City Hall. Waterway Square, with it's Colored Light and Water Feature, was designed by Sasaki Associates of Watertown, Massachusetts, designers of notable projects such as the 2008 Olympic Green in Beijing, China.
