The Village of Creekside Park encompasses nearly 3,500 acres and extends across the Montgomery/Harris County line. Creekside Park Village has room for more than 5,500 single-family homes, 540 age 55 and over homes, over 730 multi-family residences, and nearly 300 custom and estate homes. Creekside Park opened in October of 2007 and was designed with an emphasis on outdoor recreation and communing with nature. The Village includes 1,850 acres of parklands, including the 1,700-acre George Mitchell Nature Preserve, named in honor of The Woodlands' founder, George Mitchell; and 20-acre Rob Fleming Park, named for the late Rob Fleming, a Texas Parks & Wildlife naturalist and illustrator. The George Mitchell Nature Preserve features seven miles of frontage along Spring Creek, and is part of the Spring Creek Greenway Project, an joint initiative of Montgomery and Harris County to amass 33 miles of Spring Creek frontage for a regional, nature trail system.
The Rob Fleming Aquatic Center in Creekside Park opened in June of 2008 and is the largest community pool complex in The Woodlands. Rob Fleming Aquatic Center includes a two-story flume slide for tubing, a three-lane lap pool, and free-form pool with an interactive aquatic play structure, all surrounded by a lazy river. A new YMCA, Tomball ISD schools, and a village shopping center are also part of this south-west expansion of The Woodlands. When Creekside Park is completed, it will be home to approximately 7,000 families. This Village features abundant parklands and opportunities for outdoor recreation, including 79 acres of lakes and ponds, and a new YMCA that includes both indoor and outdoor facilities.
