The Woodlands is centrally located less than 80 miles from Galveston on the Gulf Coast and within minutes of the Sam Houston National Forest making it easy to enjoy the more than 250 days a year that are warm and sunshiny. And what better way to do that than by packing the picnic basket and heading out to one of the more than 210 parks in The Woodlands. Take Fido out to one of the five dog parks and let him or her romp around and make some new canine friends. Kids and adults alike can splash away the summer heat in one of the 13 pools, splash pads and water parks in The Woodlands. Or maybe a more leisurely stroll or great place for a run is what you’re looking for; walk, jog, or even bike along The Woodlands own ‘River Walk’ while taking in the music and lights along The Waterway.
The Woodlands is also home to a wealth of golf courses, providing a number of options to golfers both professional and amateur. Adjacent to The Waterway are a number of shopping options for the avid window browser, but The Woodlands is home to a diverse assortment of shopping centers and central village marketplaces throughout the area. The villages and public areas in The Woodlands are connected by 48" wide sidewalks suitable for walking, jogging, biking, skateboarding, everyday strolls as well as providing a safe way to travel in an environmentally friendly manner.

Shopping The Woodlands

The Woodlands Town Center features what could best be described as a 'Shoppers Delight'. Town Center offers The Woodlands Mall, Market Street, and other well known retail outlets all within close proximity. Residents of the various villages enjoy the close proximity of local grocers within their respective villages - HEB, Kroger and Randalls all have a presence in the area in the village shopping centers along with restaurants, national pharmacy locations, gas stations and more. Those who are inclined to do so, can venture to the village centers via the miles of connecting pathways within the community. No matter what you want to do today; this is the place to find where to go in The Woodlands.

Restaurants in The Woodlands

Scattered among the village retail centers including Town Center and neighboring communities such as Shenandoah, Spring, and Oak Ridge North, are several Restaurants including Tommy Bahama Tropical Cafe, Jasper's, Red Mango, (Fro-Yo), Cold Stone Creamery, Red Lobster, Stir Crazy Asian Grill, Spring Creek Barbeque, 5 Rico's Mexican locations, Perry's Steak House, Panera Bread and of course an assortment of drive-thru burger and taco fast food options. Market Street The Woodlands

The Woodlands public Parks range in size from small neighborhood parks or tot lots, to larger parks complete with gazebos, fishing, BMX style tracks and skateboard parks. There are also thirteen public pools at parks throughout The Woodlands.

There are two Cinemark Movie Theaters in The Woodlands; both located near the Mall; Cinemark Tinseltown 17 on Lake Robbins Drive at Waterway Avenue and Cinemark at Market Street. Both Theaters offer stadium style seating with high back chairs, and between them more than 20 screens offering a range of entertainment from first-run blockbusters to limited-release indie films. The Woodlands Waterway - Built in a similar fashion to the San Antonio River-walk, The Woodlands Waterway is bound on either side by shops and restaurants. Take a relaxing stroll or a guided tour on the Waterway Cruiser and enjoy the amazing scenery and colored lights of the Fountain at Waterway Square. Walking along the Waterway you might see ducks, egrets, turtles and of course wild fish, not to mention koi in the Koi Pond. You can also get a 360-degree view of The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion from multiple access points as well other hotels and restaurants along The Waterway.
