Christmas Season Events and Activities

The Woodlands Development Company is hosting two, free, fun family events this holiday season.

 

Among all of the fun, games, and entertainment, Santa will be there for photo opportunities and to hear your kids' Christmas wishes!

First, on Saturday, December 3 from 1:00 - 5:00 PM, head on down to Creekside Park Village Green for an afternoon filled with music, inflatables, caroling, games, and Santa's reindeer! Additionally, at Creekside Park Village Green, a petting zoo and pony carousel will add to the festivities. Also, bring your camera for an opportunity to photograph your child with Santa Claus. Lovable mascot of The Woodlands, Puffy Pine Cone®, will make special guest appearances at both locations. Creekside Park Village Green is located at 26400 Kuykendahl Road between Creekside Forest Drive and New Harmony Trail.

 

Then on Sunday, December 4 from 1:00 - 5:00 PM, be sure to stop by Hughes Landing for Winter Wonderland which will feature reindeer, carnival games and inflatables, balloon artists, face painters, holiday music and merchant booths, and be sure to bring your camera for an opportunity to photograph your child with Santa Claus. Additionally, free snow hill rides will be the highlight at Hughes Landing. Hughes Landing is located on Hughes Landing Boulevard off Lake Woodlands Drive.

Don't miss Mrs. Claus' Gingerbread House Workshop at The Woodlands Children's Museum! On December 14 and 17 from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM, children can spend the day with Mrs. Claus constructing their own gingerbread house, with graham crackers, icing and candy. Tickets are just $5 per child, in addition to regular admission. Limit one gingerbread house per child (recommended for children ages 7 and under - children must be accompanied by an adult at all times). Spaces will fill up fast, so get your tickets early!

The Woodlands Children's Museum is located in the Panther Creek Shopping Center, at 4775 West Panther Creek Drive, The Woodlands 77381. Call 281 465-0955 for more information, and remember, museum admission is always free for children ages two and under!

On Friday, December 16, at 6:00 PM, gather the family for festive fun! Make ornaments and decorate a take-home 4-foot tree! The afternoon includes hot cocoa and a snack. Fun for all ages at the Lodge at Rob Fleming Park. Fee: $60 per family for residents, $70 for non-resident families.

Flashlight Candy Cane Hunt - Also on Friday, December 16 at 6:00 PM, don't miss this great holiday hunt at Rob Fleming Park! There will be candy canes, hot cocoa and some special presents from Santa, who might even deliver them himself! A fun activity for kids ages 6 - 12. Fee: $15 per child for residents and non-residents, $5 for each additional sibling. This fun activity is available again on Thursday, December 22 at 6:00 PM as well.

Gingerbread House-Making - At noon on Saturday, December 17, children ages 5 - 12 can build and decorate a gingerbread house with gum drops, peppermints, frosting and more at Rob Fleming Park! This craft requires parent participation. Fee: $20 per child for residents, $25 for non-residents; $5 sibling discount.

 

Feliz Navi-Dog - Bring your furbabies out to Bear Branch Dog Park on Saturday, December 17 at 10:00 AM for a treat hunt and holiday costume contest! Enjoy hot cocoa while your pets socialize, then decorate a stocking for your pooch. Fee: $5 per dog.

Santa's Workshop - At 3:00 PM on Saturday, December 17, build small toys and crafts with the elves for the holidays! Enjoy cookies, music, and hot cocoa by the fireplace at Rob Fleming Park. It's the perfect place for the kiddos ages 5 - 12 to make family members presents. Wrapping supplies will be available, and Santa will be there for photos! Fee: $20 per child for residents, $25 for non-residents; $5 sibling discount.

 

Movie In The Park: The Grinch - Finally at 6:00 PM on Saturday, December 17, pull out your blankets and lawn chairs for a showing of Dr. Suess's "How the Grinch Stole Christmas." Take photos with Santa and create your very own specialty popcorn for the movie. Fee: $8 per person.

breakfast with santa christmas activities at rob fleming parkBreakfast With Santa - Join Santa and his elves for a continental breakfast by the fireplace at The Lodge at Rob Fleming Park on Sunday, December 18 at 9:00 AM. Festivities for all ages include breakfast, music and photographs. Don't forget your camera! To ensure your family's spot, pre-register for the event! Fee: $40 for a family of four for residents, $45 for non-residents, $8 each additional family member. Discounts available for families of two or three. Breakfast with Santa will also be held on Friday, December 23 at 10:00 AM.

Sweaters and Sandwiches with Santa - New for 2016, On Sunday, December 18 at noon at Rob Fleming Park, enjoy lunch, music, a family craft and of course a visit from Santa Claus! Wear your best ugly holiday sweater to enter the ugly sweater contest - and be sure to bring your camera! Fee: $40 for family of four for residents, $45 for non-resident family of four; $8 each additional family member.

 

Finally, at 3:00 PM, it's time for North Pole Bakery - On Sunday, December 18. Pastry chefs ages 3 - 12 get to join Santa by the fireplace at The Lodge at Rob Fleming Park, to decorate a holiday apron and take pictures with Santa. Don’t forget your camera! Fee: $20 for residents, $25 for non-residents, $5 sibling discount.

And remember, as noted above, next weekend there is another Flashlight Candy Cane Hunt on Thursday, December 22, and Breakfast with Santa on Friday, December 23!

 

Holiday events sold out early in 2015, so plan ahead and pre-register! If an event is full, be sure to sign up for the waiting list, additional holiday events may be added later!
