Where in The Woodlands is Buddy the Elf? Santa has lost his favorite little elf! Can you help find him? Follow the clues through the parks and enjoy activities at each clue spot, including holiday crafts and stories. Register to receive instructions and clues to his location as you explore local parks. Clues will be sent out by 5:00 PM on December 1. Fun for all ages, the cost is only $5 per family.

Breakfast With Santa

Join Santa and his elves for a catered breakfast by the fireplace at The Lodge at Rob Fleming Park. Festivities for all ages include breakfast, carolers and photographs. Don’t forget your camera! To ensure your family’s spot, pre-register for the event! FEE: $30 for a family of four, $5 each additional family member. Two dates to choose from: December 17 at 10:00 AM or, breakfast for dinner on December 22 at 5:00 PM.

Check out www.facebook.com/thewoodlandsmall for a holiday hunt! The Woodlands Mall and Build-A-Bear Workshop are adding merriment to the season with a Scavenger Hunt. Details will be posted beginning Tuesday, November 15. Fans who 'like' The Woodlands Mall can join the fun! The Woodlands Children's Museum is hosting it's 3rd Annual Gingerbread House Workshops on December 10 & 21. The cost is just $5 per child (adults are free). Candy Cane Hunt - On December 20, don't miss this great holiday hunt at The Lodge at Rob Fleming Park! There will be candy canes, hot cocoa and some special presents from Santa, who might even deliver them himself! A fun activity for kids ages 6 - 12. FEE: $15 per child, $7 for each additional sibling.

Christmas in a Kayak - On December 21, Meet at the Riva Row Boathouse and come out with Santa for some fun in the sun! Santa will join in on a kayaking adventure down to Northshore Park where participants will enjoy a present hunt! Riva Row Boat House rules apply to this program. Any age child must be accompanied by an adult to ride in the kayak. FEE: $45 per child-parent pair.

Fun with Santa - Santa is coming to the parks! Don’t be a grinch and stay at home! Come out to Terramont Park on December 19 at 1:00 PM. Kids of all ages can celebrate with holiday crafts, games, music and fun! Don’t forget your camera! To ensure your child's spot, be sure to pre-register for the event as limited walk-ups will be available. FEE: $15 per child, $7 for additional sibling.

Before Santa arrives at home on Christmas Eve, children can visit Santa without all the lines and fuss! Santa is coming to The Woodlands so kids of all ages can tell him their Christmas wishes. Stop by the Northshore Park on December 21 at 10:00 AM or Terramont Park on December 23 at 1:00 PM, and bring a camera! There is no need to pre-register, however there is a FEE of $3 per child. The event will be canceled in the event of bad weather. Call the Recreation Center at 281 210-3950 to confirm event will still be held.

Christmas Break Drop-In Dayz Camp

Looking for kids activities during Winter Break? Children ages 6 - 12 can take part in a series of day camps held at the Recreation Center, adjacent to Bear Branch Park. Come one day or all days; just register early! Determinations are made five days prior to each date whether enough participants are enrolled to hold the camps. Each camp runs from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. FEE: $40 per child per day; multi-day discounts are available.

  • December 19: Countdown to Christmas; Begin the countdown to Christmas together with friends and neighbors. Play counting games and make a Christmas countdown chain.

  • December 20: Disney Christmas; Enjoy a few of the Disney classics, Christmas style.
  • December 21: Welcome to the North Pole; Watch Polar Express, make a life size polar bear and take a "trip" to the North Pole.
  • December 22: Christmas in Candyland; Make gingerbread houses, decorate gingerbread men, hunt for candy canes and play a life-size version of a Christmas-themed Candyland!
  • December 23: Here Comes Santa Claus; Santa will stop by for a visit with a sack full of presents. Campers will even make their own present to take home!
  • December 26: Snow Much Fun; Snowmen, snowflakes, snow angels, so fun!
  • December 27: Summer in December; It's a beach party, so wear your summer gear: sunglasses, flip flops and hats. Bring your beach balls and water guns!
  • December 28: Wild West Winter; Wear cowboy hats and boots for the Rudolph Rodeo and other fun western games.
  • December 29: Just Chillin'; Kids won't be too "chilly" while having tons of fun playing gym games, running relay races and more chill things.
  • December 30: Drop the Ball! Celebrate New Years in style.

ymca winter school holiday campWinter Break vacation begins December 19th for the school age children. Holiday break camp is available at the Creekside YMCA Outdoor Adventure Center (6464 Creekside Forest Drive) for children ages 5 – 12. Each day is a special theme providing campers an opportunity to experience the fun of summer day camp. Themes include Mystery Mayhem, Texas Adventures, PROPS, Creature Feature, Ready, Set, Cook, Wild World of Sports, Around the World, Weird Science, Clowning Around and Time Warp. Outdoor activities will include hiking, archery, canoeing, treasure hunts, games, and more. Children experience a full day of camp fun! Holiday camp hours are 7:00 AM – 6:30 PM and is available December 19 – 23 and December 26 – 30. All campers must be pre-register. For more information please call 832 698-1283.
